The Gap Between Observation and Prescription Traditional gait analysis often suffers from a lack of clinical utility. Practitioners frequently collect extensive kinematic data that fails to translate aiding then diagnostic pathway or orthotic prescription. In a busy clinical environment, gait analysis should be more than a descriptive exercise; it can be a diagnostic aid and necessity.
On 25th February, Dr. Paul Harradine will lead a clinical webinar focused on the pragmatic application of gait analysis to improve patient outcomes and refine orthotic therapy.
Core Learning Objectives:
- Symptom-Specific Biomechanical Assessment: Moving beyond "ideal" gait models to identify the specific mechanical stressors associated with localised pathologies. Learn to isolate the gait parameters that correlate directly with the patient’s presenting symptoms.
- Evidence-Based Orthotic Prescription: Utilising gait findings to dictate foot orthotic choices. This session will demonstrate how to move from a generic "support" model to a prescription that addresses the specific kinetic requirements identified during assessment.
- Objective Outcome Assessment: Utilising gait analysis as a validation tool. By assessing the mechanical change post-intervention, practitioners can help evaluate the efficacy of the orthotic device and make observation driven adjustments to the treatment plan.
Technical Overview
This webinar is designed for musculoskeletal practitioners who require a streamlined, practical method for integrating real time gait analysis into their daily workflow. Dr. Harradine will introduce a method that prioritises clinical relevance over data volume, highlighting the method by which observations can lead to a tangible treatment decisions and outcome assessment.
