A 2 PART Webinar: Controlling the Hip with James Moore

( The Live events for both webinars have passed- this offer is for both recordings )

“Controlling the Hip”

Part 1 - DDx Clinical vs. Micro Instability - How a loss of control can affect everything around it.  ( The Live event has passed- recording will be available as part of the purchase)

Part 2 - How to resolve both issues with a structured exercise pathway

The Hip joint could be regarded as the centre for all CONTROL through out the human body for movement. It links the lower limbs with the pelvis and spine; it is the joint responsible for most force production and it even is critical in all throwing and overhead activities.

We are all taught the hip is one of the most stable joints in the human body, however, it is nowhere near as stable as we think. It can be prone to morphological instability, where the bony architecture of the joint is not complete. It can have micro-instability, where the peri-articular system becomes inefficient. It can have Iatrogenic instability following surgery. Finally, there can be uncontrolled load transfer (force instability) across the joint leading to overload of adjacent areas above, below and to the side.

These various forms of instability can occur in isolation in combination. Ascertaining the extent of the problem can go a long way to understand underlying cause for a myriad of different injuries. Once this is understood, it will allow the practitioner to systematically target each aspect in the rehabilitation program.

Specifically James will explore:

  • How to Diagnose the various forms of instability
  • How each form can affect the kinetic chain from everyday movement to sporting execution
  • How to build strategies to target each form of instability
  • How to prioritise the various forms when they coexist
  • Key decision making on how to progress a rehab program.
  • Examples of progressive loading to address the various forms of instability

These two interactive webinars will each take 90-120mins with time for Q&A after
