Mr James Moore

George Bernard Shaw once said: “I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it”. Join Consultant Sports Physiotherapist and injury specialist, James Moore as he takes you on an in depth and challenging look at the literature on hamstring injury, highlighting where the gaps are and what you can really take and apply from the evidence.

Direct muscular injuries account for up to 55% of all injuries occurring in sport. Of these, 16% are injuries to the hamstring muscle complex. Whether it’s recreational or at the professional level, the hamstrings are the most commonly injured muscle in athletes of all levels, occurring twice as frequently as calf injuries.

If you were to take the evidence at face value it would be like wrestling with pigs: a misguided and often fruitless attempt to restore the hamstring complex back to health, usually with little to show for the effort.

Instead, James will teach you how to discern the relevant evidence from just information, how to put that into context of both the broad research and the acute circumstances and understand the application with which an athlete’s injury presents.

Most importantly, you’ll learn how to apply the science in a practical way for immediate impact.

Specifically James will explore:

✓The strength - performance paradox

✓Why age is just a number, and history is just a moment in time, and why (despite popular belief) neither are definitive indicators of injury risk

✓How running is concurrently the disease, the treatment and, the vaccination for both causing and preventing future hamstring injury.

✓How a book on cognitive diversity can improve your clinical reasoning for differential diagnosis; treatment selection and timing of interventions

✓Key clinical milestones to use throughout the rehab process.

AND so much MORE!

Join us for some clinical gold on this topic; for the same amount of time it takes you to scroll through Netflix:)
